A number of Bath Rugby players were in action on a busy weekend in New Zealand, Argentina and Georgia. Here's a recap of how they get on.
Maori All Blacks v British & Irish Lions
Taulupe Faletau and Anthony Watson continued to show their Test Match credentials as the British & Irish Lions powered to 10-32 win against a strong Maori All Blacks side.
The hosts, who could boast a team with the likes of New Zealand internationals Nehe Milner-Skudder, Damian McKenzie and Rieko Ioane were swept aside by a clinical performance from the tourists.
A try from Maro Itoje, a penalty try and 20 points from Leigh Halfpenny gave the Lions a resounding victory, with the Chiefs the next challenge tomorrow morning (kick-off 08:35 BST).
Argentina v England
England completed a 2-0 tour series win over Argentina, with a 25-35 triumph in Santa Fe. Following a last-gasp 34-38 victory last week, there was a bit of breathing space this time for Eddie Jones’ men.
Bath’s summer recruit Sam Underhill topped the tackle chart on his full debut for his country, whilst Charlie Ewels showed his international pedigree with a try-scoring performance from the second row. George Ford scored 15 points from the boot, which ensured England ended their trip to South America on a high.
England U20 v New Zealand U20
Bath Rugby’s Darren Atkins, Josh Bayliss and captain Zach Mercer were all in action as England U20 faced the formidable New Zealand U20 in the World Rugby U20 Championship Final.
After going through the pool stages unbeaten, England U20 were looking to retain the trophy that they won last year. However, a hat-trick from hooker Asafo Aumua led the Baby Blacks to a 64-17 victory.
In a spirited second-half display, Bayliss found himself on the end of a kick over the top to touch down in the corner, as England finished with a flourish.
