Bath Rugby name team for Heineken Champions Cup opener

12 October 2018

Bath Rugby have named their side to face French giants Toulouse in the opening round of the Heineken Champions Cup at the Rec tomorrow afternoon, kick off 13:00.

Rhys Priestland captains the side at fly-half and will feature alongside Chris Cook in the half-back pairing. Jamie Roberts returns to action at inside centre, with the 31 year-old partnering Jackson Willison in the midfield.

Fresh from agreeing a new contract with the Club, Semesa Rokoduguni starts on the right wing, with Darren Atkins on the other flank. Freddie Burns continues at full-back, as Bath face Toulouse for the first time since 2014.

Nathan Catt, Tom Dunn and Henry Thomas form an experienced front row, with Dave Attwood and Luke Charteris in the second row. Tom Ellis switches from openside to blindside, whilst Francois Louw returns from international duty to wear the number seven jersey. Zach Mercer starts at number eight to complete the pack.

Joe Cokanasiga is unavailable for selection. After passing a head injury assessment during the Exeter game, he presented symptoms of delayed concussion the following day and as a precaution has been removed from selection.
