Bath Rugby legends reminisce about Leicester Tigers and Twickenham

10 March 2017

The Bath Rugby v Leicester Tigers fixture evokes many memories for players and supporters alike. Club legends Jeremy Guscott, David Trick, Stuart Hooper and Matt Perry have been talking about the long-standing rivalry between the two teams ahead of The Clash at Twickenham on Saturday 8th April.

Trick scored 171 tries in Bath colours between 1979-1991 and maintains that the prestige of the fixture remains as strong today.

“The number one game is and was Leicester Tigers. You want to play against the best and when you win against the best, it’s just such a great feeling. It’s up there with any derby.

Bath Rugby and Leicester will be looking to cement their place in the top four of the Aviva Premiership as they lock horns in April and Trick believes that playing at the home of English rugby will only make the occasion even more special.

All you could see was Blue, Black and White filtering towards Twickenham. I’m telling you now, that walk from the bus to the changing rooms, you genuinely felt invincible.”
