Bath Rugby go clear at the top

Winger Brendon Daniel was the star in front of the SKY TV cameras, scoring a brace of tries after coming through a late fitness test prior to the game.

Steve Borthwick was named SKY's Man of the Match, but there were also commendable performances from Jamie Williams in the centre and Andy Beattie in the back row.

After the game Head Coach John Connolly said that he was pleased despite not playing all that well. "It is a good start to the season, that is for sure. We did not play well, but showed great spirit and I thought that the defencive effort was awesome. There is a lot of improvement to come and we will be working hard before the Rotherham game."

Bath Rugby face Rotherham Titans at the Rec on Saturday (2.15pm). There are injury doubts over Matt Perry (abductor), Robbie Kydd (sternham), Jamie Williams (groin) and Brendon Daniel (back), but Andrew Higgins could figure this weekend following a hamstring strain.
