We are delighted to announce that Bath Rugby Foundation has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Contribution to the Community Award category in the Bath Chronicle Business Awards 2014.
The award ceremony, which takes place on Thursday September 11th at Bath Racecourse, recognises the business which has demonstrated responsible business practices and made a contribution to the overall well-being of the community, its environment and general quality of life.
Bath Rugby Foundation’s mission is Education and Inclusion through Sport and has proudly worked with over 125,000 children and young people in the local community since 2003. Growing organically over the past decade, the charity arm of Bath Rugby has grown to meet the changing needs of the local community. Bath Rugby Foundation work in community centres, village halls, local schools and special needs schools, community parks and the Recreation ground. Our outreach work with long term unemployed and NEET’s is especially helped by our open approach to engagement.
Bath Rugby Foundation constantly seeks to establish links and work with local businesses and two years ago set up quarterly meetings in the city where we are able to communicate our charity work to a much wider audience – called Friends of the Foundation. These meeting also allow the charity to engage with the business community regularly and many partnerships have stemmed from these evenings between the charity and local businesses and between business to business.
These partnerships with the local businesses have resulted in a number of very successful fundraising challenges, which not only allow the business community to support the charity but also bring in much needed funds and profile.
