“This competition forms part of the journey into the new campaign and the Club’s focus remains on ensuring that we gain the best preparation from this competition and the Premiership Rugby Cup to take us into the Gallagher Premiership in the best possible shape.”
Davis commented on the Premiership Rugby 7s and the opportunity for those in the squad: “We’re fortunate to have been able to bring together an exciting squad with a mix of the best of our own young players alongside others with more sevens experience.
“This competition is a great way to lead into the season and we see it as a great opportunity and one that we can go up to Northampton and enjoy.”
