Bath Rugby Community celebrates International Women's Day

8 March 2016

The Bath Rugby Community team was delighted to support International Women's Day at Odd Down Sports Ground today, as part of Premiership Rugby's Rugby4All programme.

Today's event at Odd Down, a short trip from the Club's Farleigh House headquarters, saw girls from five local primary schools partake in a tag rugby festival, along with some skills sessions. The Community team were assisted by three members of the England Women U20 team: Lottie Holland, Jessie Hood and Sydney Gregson. All three featured against France last weekend, with Gregson having also appeared for the senior side.

The Community team will continue to run the Rugby4All programme at Odd Down this week, with secondary schools competing in a touch festival on Thursday, and a Friday night ladies development session for local teams.

International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, and cultural achievement of women - not to mention the push towards parity in our sport. Rugby4All has given more than 7,200 girls the opportunity to play rugby in primary and secondary schools, while this year the HITZ Awards saw not one, but four female winners for the very first time.

Until midnight tonight (Tuesday 8th March), the Bath Rugby Shop is offering 25% off all ladies items. Click here to see what's on offer.
