Bath Rugby has unveiled the new 2015/16 home and alternate shirts designed by Canterbury, the Club's official kit supplier, which will be worn throughout their 150th year.
The colours blue, black and white, synonymous with Bath Rugby, feature on the home shirt in the traditional hooped design. The alternate shirt is in a crisp white with a contrasting black shoulder and sleeve detail.
The most striking development on new home and alternate shirts is the 3D injection moulded crest, a technology developed through rapid prototyping technology. The crest also features gold highlights, signifying Bath's 150th year and is complemented by a gold Canterbury and 150 years logo on the home shirt.
Canterbury's traditional yet innovative 360° loop bound neckline is a feature on the latest shirt and has been used in Canterbury's sports apparel since 1949, having evolved to withstand every physicality of the game, and is Canterbury's toughest collar to date.
On the pitch, players will benefit from a range of innovations developed by Canterbury, including super-enhanced fit technology, developed through position specific 3D body-mapping, supporting the varied physiques of the modern rugby player. The shirt also benefits from VAPODRI technology along with a reduced fabrication weight, which minimises moisture absorption, improving on the look, feel and performance of the shirt on the field.
Canterbury CEO, Chris Stephenson, said; "We are proud to reveal the new home and alternate shirts with Bath Rugby in their 150th anniversary year. We have developed key features that benefit not only the players on the field, but also the fans, making this year's shirt particularly special. We look forward to the season ahead and our involvement with the club."
Tarquin Mcdonald, Managing Director at Bath Rugby, added; "Retaining our traditional blue, black and white hoop design for the home shirt was integral for us as we celebrate our 150th season, and it's a shirt that the whole team take great pride in wearing. It's fitting that, since this anniversary year is as much about looking forward as it is looking back, we've ensured the shirt is true to our tradition whilst at the same time using the latest technology developed by Canterbury to make it most effective for the players."
The launch of the new Bath Rugby kit kicks off Canterbury's latest campaign 'Committed to Bath', celebrating their commitment to the game and the commitment of the rugby community, whether they be players, fans or volunteers.
The new kit will be available from Friday 31st July at the Bath Rugby Shop on Argyle Street and online at bathrugby.com.
