Grant Shiells will join Bath Rugby next season, adding to their options on the loosehead side of the scrum.
The robust 24 year old joins from Newcastle Falcons. Having made over 50 appearances for the North East club, he established a reputation for his scrummaging prowess and powerful performances.
Talking about his move, the prop commented: "I'm really excited to be joining Bath – they've got a great coaching team and are clearly building towards the future. There are some very talented players in the squad, and I'm looking forward to getting involved and developing myself as a player."
Shiells has represented his native Scotland at Under 19, Under 20 and Scotland 'A' levels, and will add another dimension to the current loosehead options, Paul James, Nathan Catt and fellow new signing Nick Auterac, for Mike Ford and his team.
Neal Hatley, Bath Forwards Coach, added: "Grant is a talented young player who already has a good amount of Premiership experience. We see him fitting in well with the Club and our plans for the future. He's got a lot of potential in him, and we're looking forward to seeing him push on."
