The Bath Rugby Academy team has been delivering coach development events across the catchment area over the last few weekends, with the aim of developing young players.
The sessions covered a range of topics from the Academy’s coaching philosophy, to how we are developing our young players to the nomination process for our Developing Player Program (DPP)
Events were held at Swanage and Wareham RFC, Bradford on Avon RFC and Oldfield RFC on consecutive Sundays. The event was predominantly aimed at junior coaches working within clubs in and around Bath, with over 100 coaches from 23 different clubs in attendance.
Bath Rugby’s Assistant Academy Manager and Academy Coach Development Officer, George Tavner, said: “It was great to share with clubs across the area what we have been doing to develop our young players.
“We recognise as a Club, that if we want to develop outstanding players we also need to develop and support outstanding coaches. We are extremely grateful of the support we get from clubs throughout our region and are committed on working with these coaches to provide players with the best possible learning experience. To see so many junior coaches turn up from so many different clubs was great to see.”
