The French outfit took an early lead through two Boyet penalties and it was not until the 24th minute that Bath Rugby got on the score sheet with an Olly Barkley penalty.
With six minutes to go before Half-time, Matt Stevens - who always seems to shine in European fixtures - burst through the Bourgoin line to score. Olly Barkley duly converted. Just before half-time, Boyet got another penalty to make the score 10-9 in Bath's favour.
Just into the second half, Andy Beattie touched done after some fantastic back play to put Bath Rugby into a commanding position.
In the 65th minute some quick hands in atrocious conditions, led to Brendon Daniel diving over the line in the far left hand corner. This made it 22-12.
A good Bath win, but you can't help but feel that if they had pushed a tiring Bourgoin side, they may have got that oh so valuable bonus point.
