Bath Rugby 20 v 10 Newcastle Falcons

The fly half kicked four from five penalty attempts at goal, whilst also adding the conversion to Andy Beattie's 69th minute try. In stark contrast Newcastle fly half Dave Walder missed his first four attempts at goal before kicking a single penalty in the second half and converting OPhil Dowson's 79th minute try.

Andy Beattie's try came from a rolling maul five metres out from the Newcastle line.

After the game John Connolly said that despite being delighted with the win, he was less than impressed with the performance. "At times the players had difficulty standing," said the Head Coach. "It was`not a pretty game and the execution from both sides was extremely poor."
