Rugby returns to the Rec for the first in 2014/15 today with Bath Rugby’s Aviva Premiership clash against newly-promoted London Welsh kicking off at 15.00.
Gates open at 13.00, and for our younger supporters we will have the Junior Membership Club inflatable passing target up and running until 14.30. Plus, Maximus, fresh from his globetrotting adventures over the summer will be back at the Rec.
Pre-match, the Swift Half will play host to our first Season Ticket Holder event of the season between 13.30 and 14.30. Please note that if you do not have a ticket for this event, you will be refused entry. All supporters are welcome to use the Swift Half following the conclusion of the event from 14.30 onwards.
At half-time, new official partners and supplier of the official beer of Bath Rugby, Bath Ales, will be running a kicking competition where six participants could win a crate of Bath Ales Gem.
After the game, be sure to stick around and enjoy live music from special guests ‘The Payoff’ in the Swift Half as you reflect on the day’s events with fellow supporters.
The game tomorrow is a complete sell-out with no returns expected. Please also be aware that due to a record capacity at the Rec this Saturday, we are advising supporters to allow for extra time to find their seats and familiarise themselves with the new ground layout. With the new North Stand configuration, no autographs will be able to be signed by the entrance to the changing rooms due to health and safety.
In addition to the game, the city centre is also expected to be very busy with the University of Bath holding an open day, and there will also be the annual Jane Austen Festival Promenade.
There are also several smaller scale events planned, more of which you can find out about on the Visit Bath and BANES event webpages.
