At the Rec this Sunday

28 April 2017

The last home game of the season kicks off this Sunday 30th April, when Bath Rugby host Gloucester Rugby for the West Country derby in the penultimate weekend of Aviva Premiership action. To help you navigate your way around the Rec, check out our handy guide below.

PRE-MATCH

The Bath Rugby 7s Club Championship in association with Dyson returns for the second year this Sunday, as eight local U14 teams follow in the footsteps of their heroes in the Blue, Black and White. Head on over to the Rec outfield from 09:30 to catch some of the brightest talent in the West Country in action.

Supporters are invited to join us on the outfield behind the Dyson stand, where a giant inflatable bungee run and our Rugby Ball bucket challenge will provide a bit of healthy competition for young and old alike to enjoy.

Our friends at Thatchers Cider will also be providing dozens of deck chairs in their special cider garden, for what will inevitably be the biggest Bank Holiday garden party you’ve ever been part of!

Bath Rugby partner bmi regional will be on site as well, offering supporters the chance to win even more free flights to a number of their European destinations. Head on over to their marquee to enter the competition.

As usual, Happy Hour will be running between 13:00 and 14:00 where you can enjoy a £1 off discount of Bath Ales Gem and Thatchers Gold at all bars. You can also make your way to the Swift Half to find selected promotions from The Great Western Wine bar.

Season Ticket Holder Exclusives

Following the success and popularity of previous matchday Q&A’s, we will be holding another, this weekend. Due to the capacity of the marquee, a ‘first come, first served’ policy has been implemented for all Season Ticket Holders wishing to attend. To enter, simply present your season ticket card at the door. Managing Director, Tarquin McDonald and Performance and Player Development Director,  Stuart Hooper will be on hand to answer your questions from 14:00.

We are also pleased to once again offer Season Ticket Holders an extension to the normal Happy Hour times that will allow you to take advantage of the discount for the full two hours before kick-off and throughout the match. Please do note that this discount cannot be claimed through the pre-order app.

HALF-TIME

At half time, the two top teams of the morning’s under-14s Dyson 7s tournament will take to the pitch in a whirlwind finale that will see one team crowned winners of the tournament.

POST-GAME

Make sure you stick around after the final whistle is blown to enjoy the relaxing tunes of Jukebox Live, as they take to the stage for an acoustic set.

Food and bars

We have the usual array of food and bars available to tickle your tastebuds, including AC Catering, who will have supporters favourite, the ‘Banahan Wrap’, on sale, as well as Dough Pizza, Get Battered Fish & Chips, Pieminster and Grillstock BBQ.

We are delighted to continue offering our new pre-order and fast-track collection service. Available on Apple and Android devices, the “Bath Rugby Bars” App can be used to pay for beers, soft drinks and crisps ahead of the game and then collected from the Swift Half or North Terrace bars. Orders can be placed in advance or on arrival at the Rec. The service will operate pre-match and at half-time.

To access the app, simply search “Bath Rugby Bars” in the relevant store for your device, download it, register your details and fast-track your order.

Contactless payment for credit and debit card is also available at the Rec at almost all outlets, and we now also accept Apple Pay.
