Bath Rugby held a Family Festival at the Recreation Ground last weekend to run alongside the final home game of the season against London Wasps. The weather held out and the few showers there were, didn’t stop people enjoying themselves.
There was a circus performer demonstrating juggling and how to ride a unicycle; a fire engine which the kids loved and the Army put together an obstacle course and a paint ball range.
Bath Rugby Foundation team member Charlotte Sacco was running the Up and Unders programme and said the event was: “Fantastic, it was a really good day and was a great way for people to see what we do. There was lots of interest.”
Peppa Pig joined in with the Up and Unders and was a big hit with the kids who enjoyed seeing her flatten Bath Rugby player, Dan Hipkiss!
Bristol Zoo brought some small creatures to the festival which included a tarantula, a large stick insect and cockroaches. The Zoo representative said: “There wasn’t a minute where they didn’t have a queue of people waiting to see them.”
The event was a huge success and we look forward to doing a repeat performance next season.
