We understand that supporters may be feeling concerned about attending sporting events due to the presence of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK.
We would like to reassure you that the Club is diligently following advice from the Government and Public Health England.
The Department of Culture, Media and Sport and sport governing bodies agreed on Monday (9 March 2020) that there is currently ‘no rationale' for cancelling sporting events in the UK.
All fixtures will go ahead as planned
This is of course an evolving situation; however all Bath Rugby fixtures will go ahead as scheduled unless this advice changes.
Our overriding focus is to provide a safe event and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. If you wish to find out more information yourself, official updates are available here.
We all have a part to play in stopping the spread
The NHS has issued the below advice and we ask all supporters attending the Rec for our fixture against London Irish to follow these guidelines. Maintaining a high level of personal hygiene is key to reducing the spread of coronavirus.
Visiting the Rec on matchdays
Our next home fixture is against London Irish on Saturday 21 March 2020
We ask all those attending to follow the NHS guidelines in order to protect public health. We will also provide the following in the stadium:
- Personal hygiene information posters will be visible around the stadium
- Hand soap will be provided at all wash basins, with regular refills
- Bath Rugby staff and matchday stewards have been provided with guidance on coronavirus (COVID-19), the symptoms and preventative control
Public Health England have advised anyone with flu-symptoms should avoid the risk of spreading their infection
Public Health England have advised anyone experiencing flu-symptoms should avoid the risk of spreading their infection, whatever that infection may be, by staying at home and recovering.
They also advise that those attending sporting events should stay up to date on the NHS’ latest advice on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus which can be found here.
We understand that some supporters might be feeling concerned about attending a fixture. This has resulted in some requesting clarification on our ticket refund policy.
In line with Public Health England’s advice, there is presently no rationale to close or cancel sporting events and all of our fixtures are planned to go ahead as scheduled.
We would like to reassure you again that the Club is diligently following advice from the Government and Public Health England. The situation is of course an evolving matter that remains under constant review. At this time, our current ticket terms and conditions remain in place.
