2016/17 Aviva Premiership fixtures announced

7 July 2016

The 2016/17 Aviva Premiership fixtures have today been announced, meaning supporters can now pencil some mouthwatering fixtures in the diary.

Prominent amongst a number of entertaining encounters will be the Club’s hosting of a spectacular match against one of our fiercest rivals, Leicester Tigers, at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 8th April. To celebrate the meeting of these historic foes, we have planned a festival of entertainment for all the family before and after the whistle is blown. Full details and information on how to get your hands on tickets for this fantastic day will be released soon*.

The competition will be tough from the outset, with Bath Rugby opening their campaign at Franklin’s Gardens against Northampton Saints on Saturday 3rd September. The first home game of the season takes place the following week, as Newcastle Falcons arrive at the Recreation Ground  on Saturday 10th September.

The last home game of the regular season comes against old local foes Gloucester on Saturday 29th April. To add to the West Country derbies with Gloucester and Exeter Chiefs, supporters will be delighted to welcome back to the Aviva Premiership Bristol, who will visit the Recreation Ground on Friday 18th November.

European competition kicks off in mid-October, Bath having been drawn in an intriguing European Rugby Challenge Cup pool with local rivals Bristol and Cardiff Blues, with Pau adding a Gallic flavour to the proceedings. Meanwhile, the Anglo-Welsh Cup returns this season – following a hiatus last season due to the Rugby World Cup – commencing the first week of November. The exact dates of these fixtures will be announced soon.

Where possible, all Bath Rugby home fixtures that aren’t televised will kick-off on Saturdays at 15.00, with the TV coverage of Rounds 1-8 having been confirmed today.

Supporters' first opportunity to see the men in Blue, Black and White in action will come during the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s at Sandy Park on Saturday 23rd July. Bath have been named in a pool with hosts Exeter Chiefs, along with Bristol  and Wasps.

*This fantastic day is included in the season ticket package and there will be priority access for Season Ticket Holders to buy additional tickets, followed by access for our Premium Members and Members. The game will then go on general sale, currently anticipated in time for the start of the season. More details on tickets prices, how to book and travel details will be released in due course.
