Once again we can begin planning our weekends in Bath, and the excitement that always goes before big battles at the Rec can begin to mount. In perfectly dramatic style, a round one trip to newly-promoted Newcastle Falcons is followed by our opening home game of the season, against age old adversaries Leicester Tigers – a contest that will mark the 100th anniversary of the fixture. And, with Saracens hosting us in round three, the heavyweight match-ups just keep on coming.
The final home game of the season will see Northampton Saints arriving in the West Country, with the regular domestic campaign being rounded off by a trip to the Stoop to play Harlequins.
Speaking of the schedule, Bath Director of Rugby Gary Gold said: "While we have a lot of work to do before that trip to Newcastle, we can't wait to get going. We are excited about this group of players and believe they have great potential for development. And yes, that first home game of the season will be special."
