The competition, which is run annually in association with the Club’s Title Partner, Dyson, saw eight U14 teams go head-to-head on the outfield before the Aviva Premiership fixture between Bath Rugby and Gloucester Rugby.

In the first pool, Cleve were the runaway winners with a perfect record winning 27-0, 21-5 and 45-10 against Melton Mowbray RFC, North Dorset RFC and Savernake Eagles respectively.

However, Pool Two was a far closer affair, with Salisbury RFC, Midsomer Norton RFC and Castle Cary RFC all finishing on six points. It took points difference to determine which side would contest the final and it was Salisbury who advanced, pipping Castle Cary to the post by just three points - +27 to +24.

The final, which took place on the main pitch during the half-time interval of the West Country derby, gave players the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their sporting heroes and show off their talent to a capacity crowd.

Despite a closely-fought qualification, it was Salisbury who were crowned winners on the day ending Cleve’s three-game unbeaten streak with a clinical 15-0 victory.
