Supporters were asked to give a suggested donation of £5.00 at the gate for the match between Bath United and UK Armed Forces, on an evening that provided an entertaining contest which saw the home side prevail 35-7. This fantastic sum of money was raised at the gates and from poppies sold within the ground, together with a donation from the Club itself.

“It’s very important, especially at this time of year, for us to recognise the excellent work the Royal British Legion does in this country,” said Club Captain Stuart Hooper. “We pride ourselves on our strong links with the military, so to be able to thank our servicemen and women in this way is really encouraging.”

Bath United will play several matches at the Rec throughout the season, and it was recently announced that, whilst the Club will continue not to charge for these fixtures, a £2.00 suggested donation for entry to these fixtures will go to Bath Rugby Foundation. Hooper praised the new move to support the Club’s charity, saying: “This will be a real boost to the Foundation, who do so much to help impact the local community in a positive way. Supporters can enjoy a great game of rugby whilst at the same time helping to strengthen the Foundation’s inclusion programmes for young people.”
