Darren Atkins played full-back for Richmond while there were replacement roles for Arthur Cordwell at Coventry and Nahum Merigan at Ampthill.

In his 13^th appearance of the season for Richmond, Atkins crossed the whitewash for his first try for the London outfit. It came on 41 minutes as Richmond went deep from their own half to put Bedford Blues on the backfoot, with Atkins eventually diving over in the corner.

His score proved to be Richmond’s only points of the evening as they lost 39-5 to Bedford.

Third-placed Coventry won comfortably against Caldy with Cordwell contributing 18 minutes to the 48-19 victory. The loosehead prop was on the field for two of Cov’s eight tries on the day and kept their momentum at the scrum ticking over.

Ampthill were also victorious, winning 31-12 at home against Doncaster Knights. Merigan came on with nine minutes remaining to help the Bedfordshire side see out the contest.
