The event will take place between 4-8 October and welcomes cyclists of all abilities and will raise funds for the Bath Rugby Foundation, the charitable arm of Bath Rugby. The charity was set up to empower young people in Bath and the money raised by those taking part, will go towards supporting the 20% that currently live in poverty in the city.

Even if you haven’t been on a bike for 20 years, the Bath Rugby Foundation is organising training rides every week to get you prepared for the big send off in just over four months time.

Bath Rugby's Club President, David Trick, said: “We already have some familiar faces registered for the event. These people know all about the joy and satisfaction of 'a bit of shared pain & shared achievement.' Believe me it's a special feeling.

“Fortunately we also have lots of people registered who haven't cycled with us before, I have no doubt it will be a most memorable experience for all concerned.”

Halena Coury, Bath Rugby Foundation Events Manager said: “We’ve had great interest in the French 400 since our launch a few weeks ago, with a number of women and men signing up to take on the challenge, which hugely encouraging to see.

“It’s going to be an incredible few days in France and those taking part will not only get that sense of achievement from crossing that line, but also helping support those vulnerable children in our great city of Bath.”
