Niall Annett has said 'it's an honour' to be at Bath Rugby after arriving this summer from Worcester Warriors.

The 31-year-old's first week at the club has been met with blistering sunshine with the squad working hard out on the field at Farleigh House.

“Getting to know the boys has been really good,” he said.

“The first week has been really tough. It’s been concise and considered effort in what we’re doing. We’ve worked really hard and the staff and lads have been generous with getting to know me and I’m delighted to be here.

“It’s been really enjoyable to get to know the lads in the training environment and off the pitch where we’ve had the chance to grab a couple of coffees with the weather being so nice.”

Having spent time in Northern Ireland seeing family in the off-season, Annett considers himself ‘rejuvenated and energised’ to ‘get to work’ with a mouth-watering West Country derby against Bristol Bears first up in the Gallagher Premiership.

He said: “Having spoken to people around the club it’s a proper derby. It means a lot to the fans and people at the club like Dunnie (Tom Dunn) who are born and bred in the area.

“I am just really excited to play for a club with the history and pedigree that Bath have. For the fanbase to sell out the season tickets so early into the off-season was amazing and it’s something that gives us the extra energy to graft.”
