4TH FEBRUARY 2019 – BATH RUGBY 7-7 SALE SHARKS

In challenging conditions at the Rec, Joe Cokanasiga scored a late try to give Bath Rugby a share of the points. Jean-luc du Preez crossed first for the visitors with brother Dan adding the subsequent conversion. The Blue, Black and White hit back, as Cooper Vuna sent Cokanasiga in to score on the left wing. James Wilson levelled the scores to ensure Bath didn't go away empty handed.

24TH FEBRUARY 2018 – BATH RUGBY 33-32 SALE SHARKS

A last-minute Zach Mercer try converted by James Wilson snatched the win for Bath at the Rec last season. Mercer crossed twice, with fellow back rower Josh Bayliss scoring the other. It was the boot of Wilson which proved pivotal, as the utility back slotted 18 crucial points to secure a one-point victory .

2^nd December 2018 – Sale Sharks 32-9 Bath Rugby

After trailing 6-9 at the break, Sale Sharks scored four unanswered second half tries to secure a commanding victory at the AJ Bell Stadium. Josh Strauss, Byron McGuigan, James O’Connor and Will Cliff all crossed the whitewash to complete a bonus-point win.

THE COACH - STEVE DIAMOND

Diamond is Sale through and through having spent 11 seasons at the Manchester-based club as a player. Initially joining the coaching team in 2001, Diamond followed with stints with England Saxons, Saracens and the Russian national team before returning to his former club as Director of Rugby. He has guided his side to the semi-final of the Challenge Cup this season and will be hoping for a top six finish in the Gallagher Premiership.

THREE TO WATCH

Jono Ross

Ross joined sale ahead of the 2017/18 season. The back rower has made a huge contribution to the club during his two seasons, captaining the side for the majority of the current campaign. A strong work rate and strength in defence and attack, Ross will be a threat Bath will look to combat on Friday night.

Faf de Klerk

Nominated for World Player of the Year 2018, de Klerk has been in fine form since arriving at The AJ Bell Stadium. Billed as one of the best nines in the world, the South African international will look to showcase this once again against the Blue, Black and White.

Denny Solomona

With 10 tries to his name in the Gallagher Premiership, Solomona is one of the top scorers in the competition. His pace, footwork and attacking awareness makes him a threat to any defence. The rugby league convert has an eye for the try line and will look to continue his form into the final three games of the season.
