The Bath Rugby Academy/Breakthrough Player of the Season started at fly-half at the home of Bedford Blues with fellow Academy players Harvey Cuckson and Scott Kirk also involved.

Harris’ first conversion of the night levelled the match at 7-7 early on and his second and third kicks helped England to a 21-12 lead.

Italy hit back to go ahead 26-21 late on but fly-half Harris was instrumental in turning the match back in his country’s favour at the death. It was his assist, a pass to the wing, which saw England score in the corner on 80 and his tee-shot from out wide kissed the post on its way through, clinching the Under-19s a 28-26 victory.

Also on the international scene, Bath Rugby Foundation’s Caryl Thomas bookended her international career with another win over Italy as she helped Wales Women clinch third place in the TikTok Six Nations and rise to a record high of sixth in the world rankings.

The 37-year-old loosehead prop picked up her 65th cap when she came on for the final nine minutes in Parma as Wales ended their championship campaign on the highest of highs with a five-try, 36-10 victory over the Italians.

Meanwhile, Charlie Ewels earned his second appearance for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup but his side suffered a 31-7 loss to Western Province.
