It took just two minutes for United to register their first points of the game. A flowing break down the left wing saw Tom de Glanville cleverly offload to Levi Davis, who burst through the tackles to take the Blue, Black and White into the 22. A few short phases followed before Levi Douglas went through the middle at pace to score under the posts. Alex Davies added the routine conversion to give United the early advantage. [7-0]

The United pressure continued to mount and Davies extended his side’s lead with a routine penalty on the 11 minute mark. [10-0]

The visitors were unable to stop the flow, with United’s pack proving too strong for the Cherry and Whites. A rolling maul was brought down close to the try line, and referee Sarah Cox showed Alex Craig the yellow card. In the resulting line-out, Bath went for the catch and drive again, which paid dividends with Sam Elrick crashing over under a pile of bodies. [17-0]

Gloucester got their first of the evening with 15 minutes left of the half. Successive penalties saw the visitors march their way up the field and into the Bath 22. After making progress with the maul, Will Safe picked up from the back of a ruck and ran in unopposed to reduce the deficit. Alex Coetzer added the conversion. [17-7]

United restored their 17-point advantage moments later with a sublime score from de Glanville. The full-back collected the ball inside his own half breaking through the defence before veering inside close to the 22. Spotting the space out wide, the England U20 international turned on the after burners and finished in spectacular fashion. Davies maintained his perfect record from the tee. [24-7]

Gloucester were reduced to 14 men for the second time in the game with less than 10 minutes to play in the half. Spotting the space out wide, the men in white opted for the cross field kick. De Glanville caught superbly in the air, but was adjudged to have been taken out in the air by Gloucester winger Alex Morgan.

Despite being a man down, Gloucester continued to rally and scored a superb try of their own. A deft chip over the top in the Bath 22 was collected and finished well by Tom Stanton. Coetzer put his side to within 10 points with the successful kick. [24-14]

Gloucester were the early aggressors at the start of the second half, but were unable to make their early territory pay off with the Bath defence holding strong in their 22.

Much of the action in the opening 20 minutes was played out in the midfield, with neither side able to unlock the opposition defence.

It took until the 65th minute for the first points of the half to be scored. A quick tap penalty from Ben Vellacott took Gloucester to within a few metres of the line before Bath were penalised once again. The replacement scrum-half showed his quick thinking taking the tap and diving over the line. Coetzer slotted the two points to put his side to touching distance on the scoreboard. [24-21]

The visitors continued to pile on the pressure and added another try five minutes later, which took Gloucester into the lead for the first time in the game. This time it was off the back of a line-out, with Gareth Evans managing to use his momentum to roll his way over the whitewash. Coetzer added the conversion to put Gloucester ahead by four. [24-28]

Bath were unable to grab a foothold in the second half, as Gloucester continued to dominate the second 40 minutes. A penalty from Coetzer gave Gloucester a seven-point lead with two minutes to play. It proved to be enough for the visitors, as an impressive second half secured the points.
