Geoff’s 50-year association with the Club began at the age of 16, when he captained the Bath Colts. The back-rower made his first team debut against South Wales Police in 1971 and went on to make 138 first team appearances during his eight-year spell as a player.

Geoff’s involvement with the Club continued as a selector for the 1980/81 and 1981/82 seasons before spending seven years working alongside Tom Martland as the Bath Youth Coach.

Such was Geoff’s commitment to Bath Rugby that he developed the Past Players’ website, which helped reconnect those associated with the Club from the 1950s to the present day. In 2013, Geoff became the driving force behind the Bath Rugby Heritage Project, which has been crucial in preserving the history and memorabilia of the Club.

Managing Director, Tarquin McDonald said: “Geoff lived and breathed Bath Rugby and that was evident in his unwavering commitment during five decades with the Club. He was a hugely popular and respected figure and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the fortune of meeting him”
