Five Bath Rugby Academy players were involved in England Under-20s’ 29-26 win over Newcastle Falcons A last weekend.

Tom Carr-Smith started the game at scrum-half behind a pack containing lock Ewan Richards and Number 8 Nahum Merigan while Xavier Hastings and Gabe Goss featured the bench.

Goss brought England back into the game with an early second-half try before they added three more scores to snatch victory late on.

“It was great a number of our lads were selected in the England Under-20s squad and featured against Newcastle,” Academy Manager Craig Lilley said.

“It is another brilliant experience for them in a different environment with player of the same age which we hope they will take a great amount from.

“It was nice for them to have the match at the end of the camp to see where they are and we’re looking forward to them bringing back their learnings to our environment.”
