What a game!

The Blue, Black and White were outstanding in the final 20 minutes of tonight’s fixture, scoring four tries in quick succession to secure a vital five points. The win takes Bath up to second in the Gallagher Premiership, clinching its highest league position this season.

Gloucester took an unexpected 10-point lead through the boot of Billy Twelvetrees and a try from Lloyd Evans. The fly-half made an explosive run and luckily had options left and right before finding Chris Harris on the inside who dived under the sticks.

At 22 minutes Bath finally got on the board when Rhys Priestland slotted a penalty awarded for an infringement at the breakdown. Twelvetrees then returned the favour putting a 10-point space between the scores as the teams went in for half time talks.

The second-half looked to be more of the same when ex-Bath stalwart, Matt Banahan went over in the corner after a superb break from Jake Polledri.

However, the gold came from the men in Blue, Black and White who never gave up, scoring an astounding 28 points in the final 20 minutes.

Tom Dunn crashed over twice within five minutes taking his season tally up to seven. His first score saw him peel off the maul beautifully and dive over, the second a classic pick and go with strong intent.

Seven minutes later, Lewis Boyce secured Bath’s third following some exceptional phase play from his side. Finally, with barely enough time to recover, Joe Cokanasiga marked his return to the pitch with a stunning run, offloading for Ben Spencer to dive over in the corner securing the W.

KEY MOMENT

The return of Big Joe on the wide channel following sixteen months out on the sideline and the wing came back with a bang. The final offload as Bath Rugby secured the bonus-point win courtesy of a try from Ben Spencer. A big shift on a big return for the England International.
