The Giro Di Toscana takes place in June, with both a 50-mile and an 80-mile route planned for each day.

Last week the milestone of the 100^th rider was reached when John Rew, MD of Scimitar Sports, registered to take part.

The Foundation has room for just ten more cyclists on the trip, which will see tens of thousands of pounds raised to support the Foundation’s work in and around Bath.

David Trick, the Foundation’s Corporate Fundraising Manager and President of Bath Rugby, who organised the cycling event, said: “It is great news that we have hit the century of riders who have registered to take part.

“This is going to be a really memorable trip for everyone who takes part and we still have a few places available for anyone who wants to join us in the Italian sunshine.”

Rather than cycling 80 or 50 miles, unpacking, sleeping and then packing again, this year the group of cyclists – which includes Bath Rugby Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder - will stay in the same place and do three different loops starting and ending at an internationally renowned triathlete resort.

The Giro Di Toscana, sponsored by Bath firm Flying Pig Renovations, takes place from June 6 to June 10. It costs £749 to take part, with an additional minimum fundraising target of £650.

Previous fundraising cycle rides organised by Bath Rugby Foundation have seen riders pedal across Ireland, throughout the Normandy countryside and from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Last year’s continental adventure, the French 400, saw 70 riders raise more than £50,000.

What’s included

Transfers from the airport in Italy (if on recommended flights).
Two courses to pick from (50 miles and 80 miles).
All food is included.
Two rest stops per day with refreshments.
Guides, tour leaders, medics and support vehicles.
Event manager will oversee the bike ride.
Last night celebration dinner with wine.

What’s not included

Travel and bike insurance.
Drinks with meals.
Flights.

The payment options are split into three sections:

Option A: Full payment plus fundraising target £1399

Option B: Full Balance £749 + Minimum fundraising target £650

Option C: Deposit £350 + Balance £399 + Minimum fundraising target £650
