In testing conditions, it was Bath who struck first inside the first 10 minutes with a length of the field effort finished off by Paul Grant. The visitors opted to go down the blindside from the scrum inside their own 22, which sent Jack Wilson clear down the wing. The 28-year-old made good ground before gathering his own chip over the Gloucester defence. Wilson was then momentarily halted in his tracks by David Halaifonua, but he used all his experience to offload to Grant in support to score. 0-5

Gloucester almost had a try of their own moments later, but the Bath defence managed to stop Freddie Clarke from touching down following Charlie Chapman's clever kick through.

Shortly before the interval Gloucester had another try-scoring opportunity, but after a good break from Cameron Orr in the midfield, the support runners were unable to finish off a flowing attacking move.

It was Bath who had the last say in the half scoring their second try of the evening with 38 minutes on the clock. After fielding a Gloucester kick, Tom de Glanville showed his undoubted pedigree with an inspired finish. The fly-half chipped ahead, before hacking forward and collecting to mark his first appearance for United with a memorable try. Wil Partington added the extras with a composed conversion.

There wasn't much to separate the two sides at the start of the second-half, and the scoreboard remained the same until Partington notched a penalty to give Bath a commanding lead with less than 20 minutes to play. 0-15

Gloucester continued to search for their first points of the evening, and their efforts were finally rewarded a few minutes before the final whistle. It was back rower Aaron Hinkley, who found the whitewash from close range to give his side a consolation try in the Premiership Rugby A League encounter.
