Beechen Cliff will face St Paul’s Catholic School in the final at Allianz Park on Wednesday 4^th December, after the London Irish AASE programme beat last season’s winners, Hartpury College 30-17.

It was a dominant first 20 minutes from the home team in a first half that included tries from Frankie Read, Orlando Bailey and Brad Law,

Read scored the opening try of the afternoon, as the number eight broke through the middle following sustained pressure from Beechen Cliff.

Bath Rugby Academy’s Orlando Bailey orchestrated the second try, as his team capitalised on a counter-attack opportunity. Following multiple phases in the Exeter half, Bailey used his footwork and vision to step inside the opposition defender to score.

Law made it a hat-trick of first half tries, as the centre crashed over from close range following a well-worked set-piece move.

Exeter came out of the blocks quickly in the second half, as they looked to find their way back into the game. Two tries reduced the deficit to seven points, before the home team pulled away with a further two tries. Frankie Read scored his second from a pick and go off the back of the scrum from five metres out, before completing his hat-trick in spectacular fashion. Beechen Cliff went through a number of plays, before Bailey spotted the space in behind. The captain put a delicate chip through and Read gathered following the chase to complete a memorable afternoon for the back rower. Bailey slotted a fifth conversion of the afternoon to complete his 100% record from the tee.

Ryan Davis said: “We were really pleased for the lads last week after seeing them achieve their objective of reaching the final. We were not completely satisfied with the performance on the day”
