The scheme will incorporate both rugby and character development in a series of tailored programmes designed to reflect learners’ respective environments, whether it be a team session or in more specific skills-based sessions.

Bath Rugby’s Schools Delivery Lead, Lewis Palmer, said

“The programme was such a success last year and we’re thrilled to be able to deliver it again, especially in partnership with Bath Rugby Foundation.”

“For the academic year 22/23 we’ll have a regional coordinator in each catchment area, meaning schools will receive dedicated coaching hours and hands-on support throughout the year.

“This programme is the most comprehensive sports and wellbeing package across the counties of Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. We hope that through the knowledge and expertise of our coaches, we can inspire the next generation of rugby players and supporters.”

Of the Programme, Bath Rugby Foundation's Chief Executive, Lynne Fernquest, said “These packages give the opportunity for all children to success, build confidence and develop life skills. Our specialist staff create safe environments for children and young people to thrive. Through working in partnership with schools and with Bath Rugby we can ensure no child slips through the net.”
