The day kicked off with activity stations developing all kinds of skills from kicking, to agility, and tackling as well as a little cardio on the Odd Down cycle track. Participants were ably coached in the morning by Tom Dunn, Dave Attwood, Aled Brew and Harry Davies.

In the afternoon, the students took what they had learnt in the morning and applied it in a touch rugby tournament. Francois Louw, Max Lahiff, Michael van Vuuren and Henry Thomas were on hand to referee the matches and provide some sound rugby advice to the students.

Participants came from Threeways, Fosseway, Larkrise and Mendip Schools, continuing the Foundation’s ongoing relationship with the special schools in the area. All the children taking part have received sports coaching from the Foundation’s specialist team over the past year, and the Summer Scrum was a celebration of everything they have learnt.

The Summer Scrum couldn't happen without the support of volunteers and Thrings legal firm were out in full force, including Managing Partner Simon Holdsworth. Participants on the Foundation’s HITZ programme, for unemployed young people aged 16-19, also lent a hand on the day - showing just how far they have come as young leaders.

Each participant on the day left with a skills card to show all the new things they have learned and a certificate of achievement, presented by the Bath Rugby players.
