As the largest fundraising event in the South West region, working with local and national charities is a large part of Vitality BATHALF. Macmillan Cancer Support has been named as the event's Lead Charity with RUH Forever Friend's Appeal as the Charity Appeal, Time is Precious as the Local Charity and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation as the Official Run Series Charity.

Halena Coury, Head Sponsorship and Fundraising at Bath Rugby Foundation said: "We are thrilled to be the chosen charity for this year's Family Fun Run and, with Bath Rugby celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, we're really looking forward to the Junior Membership Club leader, Maximus cheering on the young runners on the day in the Family Fun Run.

"All the money we raise goes back into helping disadvantaged people in Bath and we are recruiting 150 adults to run the Bath Half in support of Bath Rugby Foundation to make it a very special and memorable occasion."

This long-standing half marathon has become a key part of both serious and amateur runner's event calendars as well as a highly anticipated event for Bath itself. Thanks to a regular 15,000 entrants the event now raises more than £2million for good causes each year. Entering in its 35th year, organisers once again hope for another record-breaking year in support of the latest featured charities.

Vitality BATHALF Charity Director, Mel Taylor spoke of their anticipation for 2016's event saying:

"We are incredibly happy to announce our five featured charities for 2016. Our aim, as always, is to put on a great event which supports these charities and brings a fantastic spectacle to the city of Bath. I look forward to working closely with each of the charities to make 2016 an even bigger success than 2015."
