To reflect the growing popularity of the tournament, a preliminary competition will be held at the Rec on Saturday 13th April. For the first time, there will be eight U15 girls’ teams taking part with 16 U14 boys’ teams going head-to-head in the battle to qualify for Finals Day.

Finals Day will take place on Sunday 5th May, with four boys’ teams and four girls’ teams headlining at the Rec ahead of Bath Rugby’s final home game of the season against Wasps. All finalists will receive a match ticket courtesy of Dyson to get behind the Blue, Black and White.

Bath Rugby’s Ruaridh McConnochie, an Olympic Rugby Sevens silver medallist, said;

“This competition is a great way of recognising the talent we have at grassroots level. Rugby Sevens gave me the grounding in the sport, with experiences and memories which will last a lifetime. I’m sure that those taking part will look back with similar fondness when they get a chance to play at the home of Bath Rugby.”

“This competition has gone from strength to strength over the last four years and we’re really pleased to be supporting the grassroots of the sport at the Rec for the last game of the season.

Playing at the Rec is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I’m sure that the teams will take it in their stride. It’s fantastic to incorporate women’s rugby teams into the tournament this year, increasing the number of competing teams to twenty-four for 2019. Rugby is synonymous with the city of Bath, and it’s great to see the future of the game is in good hands.”
