The 22-year-old winger, who attended St. George’s School and St. George’s College, leaving in 2012, also described his excitement at heading to London for The Clash - Bath Rugby’s Aviva Premiership match against Leicester Tigers at Twickenham Stadium on 8^thApril 2017.

During his visit, Ashford-born Bath Rugby and England international winger Anthony Watson said: “Returning to St. George’s has been a really fun afternoon, it’s brought back so many great memories and seeing the pupils here being so passionate about playing rugby is fantastic. I owe a lot to this school, they really helped me get where I am today.

“The kids have been so enthusiastic today, it reminds you why you started playing in the first place. Hopefully they’ll all be at Twickenham cheering Bath on when we take on Leicester in April in the Clash. It’s going to be an amazing experience for players and rugby fans, and I know the Bath guys can’t wait to run out in such a great stadium to take on one of our biggest rivals.”

The England international joined the rugby team in a training session, taking part in passing drills and offering top rugby tips to pupils at the school that helped him get to where he is today.

Rachel Owens, Headteacher at St. George’s College, Weybridge said: “We are delighted that Anthony came to visit us today. He was a great student, we are all so proud of his amazing achievements and as a school keenly keep a close eye on Anthony when he is representing Bath or England. I believe he has really inspired our students today and we are looking forward to seeing him and his teammates at Twickenham in April.”

Max Deal,1^st XV rugby captain at St. George’s College, Weybridge said: “Anthony is one of England’s best players so to have him come and join us for a training session and give us advice has been amazing and very inspiring.”

Bath Rugby is the first non-London club to stage a ‘home’ game at the most famous rugby venue in the world, in what will be a showcase event for the Club.

As part of a fun-fuelled, family focused day Bath Rugby has planned a festival of entertainment before and after the whistle is blown.

Adjoining the stadium ‘The Forum’ - a three-zoned mini-city - will bring the Best of Bath to Twickenham, with a feast of food and drink, stage acts, players past and present, and a host of family entertainment.

Within the stadium itself, a pre-match show featuring music and pyrotechnics will build as the players enter the arena for the onset of what promises to be one of the classic rugby clashes of the season.
