To mark the occasion, a military pitch parade will take place followed by a wreath laying ceremony, including a bugler performing the last post and reveille, with a minute’s silence for everyone to pay their respects.

THE RIVALRY

The rivalry between Bath and Leicester dates back well over 100 years with the the first fixture between these two clubs taking place 13 on September 1913.

Over 200 matches have taken place since with 77 occurring the Premiership era. Of those, 31 have been won by Bath (22 at The Rec) and 41 by Leicester (15 at The Rec) – five draws have taken place.

Johann van Graan’s side have scored six more tries and 52 more points than Tigers though the visitors have conceded less penalties and been more disciplined with just one sin bin. Steve Borthwick’s men have made more tackles (812 to Bath’s 791) and have missed more too – statistics that suggest they are happy for their opponents to have possession for longer periods.

Two late Bath tries earned the hosts victory in a topsy turvy affair which saw the lead change 10 times!

Nick Abendanon and Joe Maddock were the home heroes in a match where Olly Barkley and Andy Goode traded penalties throughout.

Steve Borthwick and Zak Feau’nati were also on the scoresheet for Bath with Scott Bemand Tigers’ only try scorer.

A nervy one! Jeremy Staunton may have scored all 25 points for Leicester but it was his missed penalty in the last minute which mean Bath were victorious in this nail-biter.

Tom Heathcote stole the limelight, landing a touchline conversion and two late penalties, adding to Sam Vesty’s five points from the boot.

Dave Attwood and Matthew Carraro crossed the whitewash to aid Bath’s cause.

The 40 minutes at The Rec were incredible as Semesa Rokoduguni and Jonathan Joseph tries, and 13 points from George Ford’s boot, raced Bath into a 23-0 half-time lead.

Kyle Eastmond and Olly Woodburn scored to earn a bonus point in the second period and Peter Stringer's late try rounded off a famous Blue, Black and White win!
