Affiliate Programme
BATH RUGBY AFFILIATE PROGRAMME
The Affiliate Programme is a partnership initiative built to support the needs of our 61 grassroots clubs that sit within our catchment area - Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. The programme was launched off the back of a research project that was conducted during the pandemic, with a hope to establish how Bath Rugby can support the wider rugby community. Based on the feedback received, a grassroots coach education platform was created to leverage the expertise and resources throughout Bath Rugby and provide additional value to thousands of volunteer coaches, delivering junior and senior rugby.
HOW ARE WE PROVIDING VALUE?
- Coach development resources
- Internal and external CPD events looking at session design and coaching approaches
- Skill related workshops
- Mentor and upskill coaches throughout the season, aligned to the Bath Rugby DNA and pathway objectives
- Management of online platform (Spond) with designated co-ordinators engaging with coaches from each region (Somerset, Wiltshire or Dorset)
- Club visits
- Raising awareness of club tournaments and participation opportunities
- Offer session support and coaching advice
- Bring clubs together to discuss and challenge each other over certain topics from the game
