Tonight sees the second round of the competition take place at home of Leicester Tigers, Welford Road. Leicester Tigers will lock horns with Leeds Carnegie, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in a bid for their place in the Final.

The South West leg of the competition is scheduled for 30th July.

Peter Tom, chairman of Aviva Premiership Rugby, said: "Sevens has been a part of the rugby calendar for many years but there has been increased coverage and interest in recent seasons, especially now that this version of the sport has been accepted as an Olympic event for 2016.

"Having rugby recognised in the Olympic Games is a massive step for the game as a whole in terms of appealing to a worldwide audience.

"Sevens has a major appeal with exciting quick-fire contests and this is also an opportunity for players to develop their game in a competitive arena."
