Bath players scrum down with Edgar
Bath Rugby joins the Lions' Pride

It is a regular occurrence to hear the roar of the crowds down at The Rec on a match day, but from now on there will be a roar of a different variety - that of the Bath Rugby Lion.
The Club's lion will become part of the giant pride of 100 majestic sculptures as Bath Rugby has just become one of the latest sponsors of the Lions of Bath public art event taking place in the World Heritage city this summer.
"We are delighted to be part of the project," said Chief Executive Nick Blofeld. "As an integral part of the City, and local community, we were keen to get involved.
"Rugby has a real family ethos and we're keen to develop that more at Bath. Joining in the lions project will hopefully be good fun, raise money for a good cause and create another area of interest for the children visiting the Rec."
Megan Witty, organiser of Lions of Bath 2010 said: "It's wonderful news that Bath Rugby is sponsoring a lion. As the Club is at the heart of our community it is very appropriate that they are supporting this public art event for the city. The Bath Rugby lion will be a huge draw to local and international rugby fans and we are looking forward to working with the team.
"Over 60 of our 100 lions have now found sponsors so anyone thinking of sponsoring a lion should contact us as soon as possible via the website at www.lionsofbath.com."
The photo attached is of Edgar the golden Lion that has been signed by the people of Bath, including Bath Rugby's very own British & Irish Lions, Danny Grewcock and Lee Mears.
The lion sculptures will be displayed in public spaces around Bath from the end of May until September 2010 and then auctioned to raise funds for local Bath charities in October. The charities include the children's charity "Off the Record" and the Quartet Community Foundation.
