Dr. Gregory Roe

Head of Applied Science & Research

Roe hails from Ireland and studied for a BsC in Sports Rehabilitation at the Institute of Technology, Carlow before going on to complete a Masters degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton.

Greg was a Physiotherapist for the Bradford Bulls from 2013–2014 before joining Yorkshire Carnegie where he worked for three years as Head of Academy Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning. Whilst at Yorkshire Carnegie, Greg studied towards a PhD in conjunction with Leeds Becket University which looked at the training load and match induced fatigue within Academy Rugby Union Players. Greg finished his PhD Thesis in the Autumn of 2017 and has to date published over 25 articles in a variety of Scientific journals.

Roe will utilise his knowledge and expertise in research, Applied Sports Science, Physiology, Strength and Conditioning and, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation to support the Performance Department as a multi-disciplinary team to establish evidence-based and methodologically-sound approaches to all training activity and athlete support services across the senior squad at Bath Rugby.
