Bath DPP

The Bath DPP serves as the entry point to the talent pathway for Bath Rugby, and represents the place where players will be identified and developed with a view to selecting those players with the greatest long-term potential to join the Bath Academy Player Development Group.

The delivery framework for the Bath DPP is designed to cater for an appropriate number of players across our region, to allow for high quality delivery and player development.

We currently deliver regular DPP sessions (2019 – 2020 season) at the following locations:

  1. Wiltshire Centre: Chippenham RFC
  2. Dorset Centre: Swanage & Wareham RFC
  3. Bath & NE Somerset Centre: King Edwards School, Bath
  4. Somerset Centre: Millfield School

Development Days are also held throughout the season at the University of Bath typically on a Sunday where players from all the training centres combine.

A relatively small number of DPP players will progress into the Bath Academy, where we deliver U15 – U18 programmes through our Player Development Group  and support for England Academy Players (EAPs) to maximise each players’ potential to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours to help them progress into the professional game.
