Young South African centre Jordan Venter made the switch from Edinburgh to Bath Rugby in December 2021.
Having already made a big impact in his homeland, Venter starred for Paul Roos Gymnasium, his high school in Western Cape, a school that has produced more Springbok rugby players than any other with 54. After winning the 2019 Sanix World Rugby Youth Invitational Tournament with the school, he was named vice-captain of South Africa's U18 Sevens team which went on to win the Capricorn Gold Cup in Namibia in early 2020.
Moving to the UK following the tournament, Venter became the first foreign schoolboy to sign a professional contract with Scottish Rugby, signing for Edinburgh. After nearly two years in Scotland, the talented centre has brought his dynamic running power and intense determination to succeed to the West Country.
An abrasive, hard-running centre, Venter is relishing the opportunity to ‘grow’ his game further with Bath Rugby.
