Jacques du Toit came through the ranks at Toyota Cheetahs, representing them at all age groups at both junior and senior levels.
The hooker had been preparing to captain the Southern Kings having moved from the Cheetahs in 2020 before the club fell into liquidation. On his return to the latter, he featured in the Currie Cup, a competition he had previously won in 2016.
A Junior World Championship winner in 2013 with South Africa, du Toit moved to England to join Bath in the 2020/21 season, making a try-scoring debut against Zebra in the Challenge Cup.
