Will Homer will captain Bath Rugby at the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s this weekend at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton.
The scrum-half, who featured in the competition three years ago at Gloucester will be looking to pull the strings as the Blue, Black and White face Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors in the pool stages of the competition on Friday night.
Five University of Bath students will link up with the squad including winger Levi Davis, who was in prolific form for Bath United last season. The squad also includes guest players from the RAF, the British Army and London Scottish.
Jeff Williams, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, will coach the side and believes it is a great opportunity for those involved.
Williams said: “We always want to do well and every time the boys put on the jersey it’s important. It’ll give people who we’ll potentially see later in the season in the A League an opportunity.
“It’s important they understand what we stand for and what is important to us. The thing for me is players expressing themselves and having fun because that’s what rugby is about.”
“I am really excited to have Will Homer playing for us, he will captain the side and it’s really good to have him with us.
“There’s a few boys to keep an eye on, like Levi Davis, who has played in the A league and England Under-18s.
“We have players that maybe not everyone knows about but it’s exciting to work with them.”
