De Carpentier named captain for Premiership Rugby Cup trip to London Irish

Archie Griffin will make his first senior start for Bath Rugby against London Irish in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

The tighthead prop debuted in the competition at Exeter Chiefs before earning his maiden Premiership outing at the same venue on Christmas Eve.

He will be joined in the front row by returning duo Juan Schoeman and Tom Doughty while Michael Etete and JJ Tonks make up the second row.


Number 8 Richard de Carpentier has been named captain with Tom Ellis and Wesley White completing the pack.

Two Premiership debutants this season, Tom Carr-Smith and George Worboys pair up in the half-back slots. Max Wright and Jordan Venter form a midfield partnership.

Will Butt and Tom de Glanville are on the wings, and Sam Harris is selected at full-back.

On the bench, there are potential Bath debuts for Elliot Millar-Mills and Academy back row Frankie Read.
