International round-up

9 September 2019

Bath Rugby had a number of senior players involved over the weekend on international duty as England and South Africa continued their preparations for the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

England 37-0 Italy

England nilled Italy in a first-ever international at Newcastle United's St James' Park on Friday, with Bath Rugby's Ruaridh McConnochie making his debut. McConnochie's Club teammates Anthony Watson, Charlie Ewels and Joe Cokanasiga also featured in a resounding victory for Eddie Jones' side.

Three first half penalties from Owen Farrell gave England a 9-0 lead going into the second-half before his side ran in four second-half tries. Watson was one of those, who crossed the whitewash, as the full-back picked a hole in the Italian defence to complete a commanding win in the North East
