Houston and Louw in line for Rugby Championship finale

8 October 2016

Leroy Houston and Francois Louw will both be in Rugby Championship action today as the tournament reaches its conclusion.

Houston is in line to win his first Australia cap from the bench when they face Argentina at Twickenham Stadium today (kick-off 19:30), whilst Louw and the Springboks take on the All Blacks in Durban (kick-off 16:05). Both games are live on Sky Sports.

Houston left Bath in the summer to try and further his international ambitions, before coming back on a short term deal until the end of October. He will become Wallaby number 901 should he come off the bench this afternoon.

"I didn't think I'd be involved at all this year”, Houston said earlier this week when the squad was announced. “I gave it a crack back in June, July. We've got good flankers. The opportunity came around and [Cheika] asked me if I wanted it and I put my hand up. And I had another crack at it. I'm really wrapped about getting into the team."

"I still haven't absorbed it yet. I feel like I'm on quite a high. I can't put it into words. Emotions are running high, and mentally I’m just trying to keep calm and just prepare in the mental space to play against the Pumas. Knock on wood I get to come off the bench and debut."

Louw will start on the flank against the All Blacks, as the Springboks look to end their campaign on a high.

"It's a big opportunity and a big responsibility that lies ahead. They definitely are beatable, but to be honest, everybody knows that they're playing top rugby at the moment.”

"It will be a hell of a challenge and a hell of a game. But no way can we go into the game thinking they're unbeatable. We're going to go out there and formulate our game plan this week and try and execute that to the best of our ability."
