Taulupe Faletau has been one of World Rugby’s most consistent performers over the past decade.
Born in Tonga, he spent his early years in Wales playing for Ebbw Sale RFC and New Panteg RFC juniors alongside Mako and Billy Vunipola until youth level, when he moved to Filton College in Bristol to experience the English game.
The Number 8 made his debut for the Newport Gwent Dragons senior team in November 2009 and went on to play for Wales Under-20s in the U20 Six Nations and Junior World Cup the following year.
Faletau earned his full international debut for Wales in 2011 and two years later went on the British & Irish Lions tour to Australia for whom he toured with again in 2017 and 2021 whilst with Bath Rugby.
An outstanding ball carrier with impressive footwork and physical dominance, Faletau is nearing 100 Test caps at the highest level and has appeared over 60 times in Blue, Black and White.
After six years at the club, he will depart for Cardiff Rugby in the summer.
